Problem
FMS was approached by the Game Management Authority (GMA) to provide covert, real time surveillance within the Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary. Fishing is prohibited within the sanctuary, and the GMA had been dealing with illegal fishing, both via boat and on the coastline within the sanctuary. There were also issues around non-compliance with marine speed limits within designated areas.
Solution
Using mobile live streaming technology, FMS was able to send a real-time video and data feed to GMA officers both on the ground and remotely. All video footage was recorded for evidence, which included the time and location of the observation.
Several cases of non-compliance were detected and recorded for GMA officers to act upon. These included illegal fishing activities and unsafe use of marine vehicles. All events were recorded for later use by the GMA.
